Reacting to growing travel bans around the world due to the Corona virus, Namibia Wildlife Resorts announced this week it has extended its 70%-off special to April 2020.

“The measures put in place by the Head of State require us to safeguard our staff and guests. Therefore, as Namibia Wildlife Resorts, we have been sensitising our employees at the resorts to ensure that we continue adhering to our strict hygiene levels. At the centre of our business is the wellbeing of our staff and guests” said Dr Matthias Ngwangwama, the company’s acting Managing Director.

“With some clients amending or cancelling their bookings, Namibia Wildlife Resorts has updated its cancellation policy to speak to the changing environment. Therefore, clients are welcome to get in touch with any NWR booking office where they will be assisted on the way forward,” he added.

Other tourism establishments have also taken a pro-active route. On Monday, Rob Moffett of Ongava Game Lodge announced that they will reschedule any planned trip for free.

“Ongava guests whose travel plans have been disrupted can make no-fee changes, and have their cancellation penalties waived, by booking new dates up to 31 December 2021,” he said adding that this arrangement applies to all four camps in the Ongava game reserve.
